Phoenix System XL Wheelchair Travel Bag + Trolley – 78L Checked Luggage (Black)

Australia Wide Shipping

The Phoenix System XL Bag and Trolley is a high-capacity wheelchair travel luggage system designed for longer holidays, international travel and trips where you need more packing space.

With a generous 78L capacity, the Phoenix System XL bag is the largest single hold bag in the Phoenix System range. It provides plenty of room for clothing, equipment, medical supplies and other travel essentials while remaining lightweight and easy to manage from your wheelchair.

The bag is made from high-quality padded material and features robust zips, a transparent document wallet and connection points that allow it to be combined with other compatible Phoenix System bags.

The included Phoenix System telescopic wheelchair trolley connects the bag directly to your wheelchair. The trolley remains attached to the bag while travelling, allowing you to move through airports, hotels, train stations and other environments without balancing luggage on your lap or holding it while pushing.

Key Features – Phoenix System XL Bag & Wheelchair Trolley

  • Extra-Large 78L Capacity: A spacious checked luggage bag designed for longer holidays, international travel and situations where you need room for additional clothing, equipment or supplies.
  • Wheelchair-Compatible Travel Luggage: Connects to most manual wheelchairs using the Phoenix System Trolley, creating a stable and practical wheelchair suitcase setup.
  • Hands-Free Mobility: The trolley attaches behind your wheelchair, leaving your hands free for pushing rather than carrying, pulling or balancing a suitcase.
  • Lightweight Padded Construction: Made from high-quality padded material to help protect your belongings without adding unnecessary weight.
  • Robust Travel Zips: Durable zips are designed to withstand regular travel, luggage handling and everyday use.
  • Transparent Document Wallet: A clear document pocket provides an easy place to store identification, itineraries, booking information or luggage documentation.

  • Black as Standard: Supplied in a practical black finish suitable for regular domestic and international travel.

Compatibility Guide and Adapter Options Explained

The Phoenix System range is designed to fit most wheelchairs with a straight, round backrest bar (rigidiser) and at least 25mm clearance between the bar and the backrest. A range of adapters help connect the bags to many other manual wheelchairs.

No Adapter Needed (Standard Fit)

  • Straight backrest bar (rigidiser)
  • Round tubular bar (not oval)
  • At least 15cm of straight bar length
  • At least 25mm clearance between the bar and backrest

If your chair meets the above requirements, you can select the standard fit option and you typically won’t need an adapter.

Other Adapter Options

Universal Adapter

Best for:

  • Folding wheelchairs
  • Chairs without a backrest bar (rigidiser)
  • Non-standard frame designs
  • Can fit just about any manual chair

If your chair does not have a straight mounting bar behind the backrest, this adapter is required.

Curved Bar Adapter

Best for:

  • Chairs with a curved backrest bar

Standard brackets require a straight clamping surface. If your rigidiser bar curves, this adapter provides correct alignment and stability.

Low Clearance Adapter

Best for:

  • Chairs with less than 25mm clearance between backrest & bar

If the space between your backrest and backrest bar is tight, the standard bracket may not fit correctly. This adapter is designed to help with slim clearance setups.
