High-performance R8 (1/2") ABEC-5 bearings made specifically for wheelchairs.
Replacing your wheelchair’s bearings helps restore smooth rolling, protect your body from strain, and extend the life of your equipment. These precision bearings are engineered for durability, smoothness, and strength under high load - ideal for rear wheel hubs and some fork assemblies using 1/2" axles.
Important: Check your axle size before ordering. These R8 bearings fit 1/2" imperial axles, which are standard on most US manual wheelchairs. If your chair uses 12mm metric axles, please select the 6001 bearings instead.
Why Service Your Bearings
Wheelchair manufacturers recommend servicing your bearings at least once a year. Over time, dirt and moisture increase rolling resistance, reduce speed, and add stress to your shoulders. Installing new bearings is an easy at-home upgrade that makes your chair roll faster, smoother, and farther.
