The FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment is a lightweight and durable third wheel that transforms your manual wheelchair into a much more capable all-terrain setup. By lifting the small front casters off the ground, the FreeWheel makes it easier to roll across surfaces that can otherwise be difficult to navigate, including grass, gravel, dirt tracks, uneven paths and sand.

Once correctly set up for your wheelchair, the FreeWheel can be attached and removed in seconds. This makes it a practical option for everyday use, travel and getting outdoors without permanently changing your wheelchair.

Why Use a FreeWheel?

Small wheelchair casters work well on smooth surfaces, but they can quickly become a limitation when you move onto rough or soft terrain. The FreeWheel raises the front casters clear of the ground and replaces them with a larger front wheel, creating a three-wheel setup that rolls more easily over bumps, cracks and uneven surfaces.

Compatibility

The standard FreeWheel is designed to work with most rigid-frame manual wheelchairs with a solid footrest. It securely clamps to the footrest and lifts the wheelchair's front casters off the ground.

Folding wheelchair? No problem. A separate FreeWheel Folding Wheelchair Adaptor is available for compatible folding wheelchairs. The adaptor clamps to the horizontal side tubing of the wheelchair and provides a mounting point for the FreeWheel.
